New build help please

DewisLavid

Hi,

ive just built a new pc, Tuf b450m gaming motherboard, Ryzen 3600, gtx 1070, 16gb corsair vengeance  2400mhz ram, 128gb ssd which has windows 10 installed on it, 1tb hard drive and a Corsair 450w 80 plus bronze power supply in a Corsair carbide 275r Case and im pretty sure I’ve installed everything correctly, I checked the compatibility multiple times before purchasing the parts and everything was compatible, everything powers on I can see all the parts are working but I cannot get the pc to detect the display I’ve tried 2 different displays using HDMI and Display Port. Does anyone know why this could be, it may be something very simple that I’m missing

No beeps and all leds are lit up, I have read online to attach a speaker and listen for the beeps to see if there’s an issue

I have tried taking the gpu out and putting it back in twice so i don’t think I have mis seated it but will try that again and also tried using the HDMI on the motherboard, which is why I’m lead to believe its not the graphics card

did you happen to update the bios before installing the CPU? or is it updated to the latest bios? according to the motherboard, it only supports 1st and 2nd gen out of the box. if that's the case, that might be the reason my friend.

no wait. it depends. the site actually mentions that it supports the 3rd gen. unless its the older model.

That’s what has confused me mostly about all this, I’ve seen from multiple different sources that it should work as it says supports ryzen 3000. I’ve only just purchased it recently brand new so I would assume it’s a newer model.

if I download the new bios update onto a usb stock and then plugged that in to my new pc do you think that would allow me to update the bios?

im not really sure. as far as i know, you will need an older AM4 CPU for it to work. though i hope someone else from the community can help since at this point, i have no idea what to help.

Just discovered that it shouldn’t need a bios update as in box of the cpu there was a little leaflet saying “ motherboards with amd ryzen 3000 desktop ready label on the box Are compatible without requiring a bios update” which the motherboard box has this on it so back to square 1 I guess just going to have to check all connections 1000 times

well. oof. at that point then, try to run with just one of the ram sticks as a trial and error. try to put it in one of the slots one at a time.
