Can cpu bottleneck introduce gpu artifacts?

ostirik

Hi everyone,

I borrowed a gtx 1080 ti from a friend and because the pandemic I am in a friend's house and he has a i7 870 (yes the first generation) and he got a new power supply so I wanted to see what bottleneck really looks like. So when I did some benchmarks I saw lots of artifacts and because I can't verify if the card is faulty with my test bench I started to think if the bottleneck is so severe that the card creates artifacts.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't think a bottleneck would introduce artifacting. Is either part overclocked or damaged? They could be unstable, but a botleneck would not cause artifacting.
