Budget (including currency): about 1350 dollars

Country: Czech Republic

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming and Gaming

Hi I will celebrate my birthday soon and I would like to build a new pc but I have never build one before. I was trying to search for components and made a list:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- HDD and SSD: Seagate BarraCuda, 3,5" 1TB (48$), Crucial MX, M.2 - 250GB (56$)

- Power Supply: Be quite! System Power 9 - 600W

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x (340$)

- Motherboard: MSI TOMAHAWK MAX - AMD b450 (124$)

- GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super Gaming X, 8GB GDDR6 (560$)

- Memory: G-Skill TridentZ 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 (132$)

- Case: MSI MAG VAMPIRIC 010

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think this is a good build ? How much FPS would I have while running Fortnite or other games? Feel free to change anything and I would appreciate the help :) Thanks!

PS: I am not actually a huge MSI fan, I just found that these MSI components are good. :)

Board is overpriced. Get an Asus X570 Prime P or ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4. Both vastly superior boards. That 2060 Super is also insanity. The Gigabyte 2070 Super is 20% faster and 70$ cheaper. Get that. The MSI case is very mediocre and I would personally not buy that.

Thanks a lot :) It really helped me. And which case would you recommend?

Ditch the 3700X for a 3600 and upgrade your gpu to a 2070 / 5700XT for gaming.

If you want integrated wifi on the board, check the MSI PRO CARBON. Otherwise you can cheap out on the mobo unless you really like that particular one.

3600Mhz ram are quite an overkill for this build.. after 3200Mhz gains are lower and they are much harder to be stable on Ryzen.

Case isn't really a good choice here. Go for a H510 or P300A for airflow, unless you want the look.

What? He can easily fit a 3700X and 2070 Super. That's a senseless downgrade

Why doe grade the board? Either wait for B550 or get X570 at this point. MSI s cut down B450 BIOS are not good.

What? Even DDR4 3800 is very easy to run. 3600 is the optimal performance speed assuming lower timings.

The H510 is also meh...

I would recommend a Cooler Master Silencio 452 or 550. The sound dampening is very nice to have as you will have comfort and silence in a filtered case

I have looked for both motherboards and they're twice as expensive as the one I chose :/ And the GPU you recommended is also more expensive :(

I use CZC and Alza but these are only here in Czech Republic

It's a bit hard as I don't really understand the site or the language but using czc for comparison..
Moving from a 3700X to a 3600 will save you 3600Kč
There's a AsRock 5700XT on there for 10361Kč or a EVGA RTX 2070 Super for 14911Kč. I don't know how much you are paying for your MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super Gaming X but the cheapest 2060 Super I found on the site was 11-12K so the money you're saving from the CPU downgrade can be well spent on this upgrade, which is much more important for gaming.

For motherboard I couldn't really find much. The PRO CARBON I suggested should be 800-1K Kč more expensive than your choice but it does have WiFi integrated so if you DON'T need wifi, you can get pretty much any B450 motherboard on the market and they'll all be good for your use case.

If you move down from your RAM to a 3200 2x8 kit you should be able to save another 1-2K Kč depending on your choice and the performance benefit of that RAM speed (assuming you can run it with manual overclocks) is not gonna be more than 1-2% at best so not really worth it IMO.

Case isn't really that important of a choice, so go with the one that matches your preferred look and doesn't cost too much.

Not everyone lives where you live. B450 BIOS is not cut down, that's why all their products have been re-released with MAX added to their name.

DDR4 3800 and H510 comment: Are you Tech Jesus? No. Then don't try to put your views above his testings. Thank you.

Oh wow :D Thank you I really appreciate that. 15000 Kč is about 600$. (1$ = 25Kč)

Do you think getting 3600 instead of 3700x is good idea ?

Should I get 2060 or 2070?

It depends on what's your main goal with your PC. If you want to mainly play games, GPU is more important. If you want to stream, make or edit videos, or do something that require multitasking the CPU is more important.

600$ is a lot but really in Europe a 2070 is like 600€ so.. we're on the same boat!

Depeding on the resolution and settings, at 1080p you should expect 100-200 FPS on a 2060 already on Fornite.. so any upgrade is pretty much pointless unless you have a 240 Hz display. If you just play fornite or MOBAs I would not spend more on either CPU or GPU at all and stick with a 3600 + 2060 Super. There's always time in the future to upgrade them! In gaming 3600 is almost identical to a 3700X.

Yeah you're right, I think I will get that 3600 and 2060 Super. Thanks a lot!!! It really helped to realize that I don't need to spend much money on this :)

That's a significant downgrade. I would not recommend it but it's your money. Just don't complain when you're not getting 200 fps ;)

And one more thing @3rrant What is the difference between a motherboard with and without a WiFi?

Just that the WiFi is integrated. Normally you have a ETHERNET port on the back of the motherboard to connect to the internet. If you want WiFi you need to install an additional card in the system (PCI-E or PCI based). If the wifi module is integrated in the motherboard, you get wifi functionality out of the box.

If you don't need or want wifi because you're comfortable with using an ethernet cable, you can save some money of the motherboard.

But it would be still better then playing 30 fps on console :(:/

On ultra you'll get 100-120FPS and on high 160-190FPS. If you don't have a 144+ monitor, it would be useless anyway.
