Budget (including currency): £250 (GBP)

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS:GO, Garrys Mod (I own servers so need to run other programes whilst running games), Battlefront 2, FiveM/GTA V, FSX (Flight Simulator X), Escape from Tarkov (to name a few... these are my mains)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):
So, I won't list what case and accessories I have as that's useless. Here's my main specs. Please give thoughts on what I should be upgrading to.

MY CURRENT SPECS (With links)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2300x Q-C 3.5GHz CPU
MOBO: Asus PRIME A320M-K Mobo

RAM: 2x Crucial 4gb DDR4 Ram 2300mhz RAM
SSD: Samsung Evo 500gb SSD
HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 1TB HDD

GPU: Gigabyte GT 1030 2GB GPU -- I took this from a friends PC when they upgraded so didn't buy it. Found the exact one on Amazon though.

PSU: Corsair VS650w 80 PLUS PSU

WHAT I THINK I NEED TO UPGRADE (With links)
RAM:
16gb (2x 8gb) Crucial Ballistic 3000MHz RAM (I heard Crucial RAM is actually competative to the likes of Corsair so...)
GPU: MSI GTX 1650 Ventus XS 4G OC GPU (Not sure if this is the best card to go for. Want to keep as close to the budget as possible)

Please do suggest other ways to go with it. If you think I need to upgrade another part of my system, also say, down to think more about it :)

Thanks!

Are you already maxing out 8GB during use? Otherwise it's better to spend the entirw budget in the graphics card

And even if you do get RAM, 250 quid should be enough for faster cards still

I think so. I'd be playing something, for instance, Tarkov, and if I tab out to deal with something, nothing responds. I have to close Tarkov in task manager. So I think I do max the 8gbs out.

With the graphics card, the GT 1030, means I have to play low specs, maybe low to medium on Tarkov? Stutters every now and then which makes it hard but, nonetheless use to it.

I thought the 1650 was a good solution to go for? I don't neccesarrily think a for instance, 2070 would be justifyable. I want something that will last a year or so, then see where the wind blows. Maybe even a 1080, but these are still far out my budget.

Any suggestions would be extremely great :)

You can monitor RAM usage with MSI Afterburner and RTSS combined (and then enable RAM usage to be displayed in OSD menu in Afterburner). Locking up when you tab out i ls a bug of the software, not related to running out of RAM.

I know it's bad, tbh 2200G/2400G made much more sense than a 2300X, latter's iGPU is even faster than a GT1030 with 3000MHz memory

With the 1650 you just pay a ton for not needing to use a PCIe power connector. In performance even the RX480 from 2015 (factory overclocked from AMD by 100MHz under new process node and rebranded as RX580) easily beats it and they cost as low as 100 pounds for a 4GB model. Even the 1650 Super only managed to compete with the RX580, not outright beat it.

With 16 series, aim for 1660 and 1660 Super

I would probably get a 16gb ram kit for about £70. Then with your £180 I would spend it all on the GPU. You could get the 1650 super for about £180 (there's a TUF gaming on sale for £155 on Amazon UK at the moment, dunno if it's a good model though) . Alternatively if you want to buy used, which is often better value, you could get something like an rx580 or 590 with comparable performance to the 1650. The rx580 could save you a bit of money if you can get one for about £140. You could also try and stretch to a gtx 1070 for about £200 used.

Hope these give you some options :)
