Fan connectors.

Simple question again, can you plug a 3 pin fan into a 4 pin fan connector on mobo? Other way around also?

 

You can plug a 3pin into a 4pin on the mobo as they are compatible.

 

And I think PWM fans can be hooked up to a 3pin connector but lose the PWM functionality obviously.

Frost upon these cigarettes.... lipstick on the window pane...

You can plug a 3 pin fan into a 4 pin fan connector (it will be controlled using voltage if your motherboard supports it). You could also do it the other way around and it will probably be also controlled using voltage if your motherboard supports it.
