Moving to another platform

So guys, I'm thinking on jumping on the AMD bandwagon when 4000 Ryzens come out - starting to save up for a beautiful, shiny 4950x as we speak. Gonna need a good mobo for it too though, meaning an x670. Are there some preliminary steps I need to take when replacing the stuff, or will everything work just like that?
