Moving to another platform

So guys, I'm thinking on jumping on the AMD bandwagon when 4000 Ryzens come out - starting to save up for a beautiful, shiny 4950x as we speak. Gonna need a good mobo for it too though, meaning an x670. Are there some preliminary steps I need to take when replacing the stuff, or will everything work just like that?

You should link your local account to Microsoft Account. This way you'll be able to reactivate Windows after hardware change. It's described on Microsoft website.
