“MEMORY_MANAGEMENT” BSOD

geico4432

Hi all I’ve recently been having trouble with the memory_management bsod. For the past while I have been experiencing this error however it has only been an inconvenience and happening maybe once every 2 weeks, the pc restarts I continue (stupid I know).

But recently this happened and caused a lot more trouble. I allowed the computer to restart however on boot it immediately blue screened again, I tried once more and managed to log into windows however after around 10 seconds it blue screened. At this point I booted into the bios and disabled my memory profile, thinking maybe this would help. I then attempted to boot however failed to even boot into lockscreen, a message was displayed saying something about windows unable to boot due to a file error, I didn’t take a photo (again stupid I know) however from memory the file it pointed to involved sys32 and logfiles. Windows gave me the option to attempt to repair my pic however it also stated that personal data may be lost, I wasn’t okay with this and so clicked shut down. I then attempted to boot again and this time was able to enter into windows.

So far everything seems stable, I haven’t had a bsod but it’s only been running for a few minutes. I seem to have engaged the windows repair tool that I talked about before by trying to boot, it has cleared my download folder aswell as desktop icons, logins etc. however everything seems to be intact.

All drivers are up to date as i saw a common cause of this error is due to faulty gpu drivers. I like to think I’m pretty tech literate but this is mostly limited to hardware, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to software. I’m pretty sure the issue is software based as the computer is quite new but if there is an issue it will probably be with the Gpu as it’s the one used component in the build.

If this is the end of the errors then I can redo my desktop icons and other stuff without much trouble, but if this happens again I don’t want to have to deal with it. A clean install is possible over the weekend (I attend class online) however I have a large amount of data both in games and work on my computer and no local backup options, so I’m trying to avoid this if possible.

Thanks for the help (Sorry for the wall of text)
