The folder appears to be empty.

That would probably do it then. Copy all of the shortcuts in:

C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Windows PowerShell

...and put them into that folder.

Hi everyone. Today I tried to use powershell and when attempting to open it I get the error from the image below.
I turned powershell off and on again from the control panel settings, but no luck.

I also tried typing powershell from the searchbar and while clicking all the result that come up nothing happens. It's like clicking on blank space.

This thing i mentioned above happens with cmd and run too. So i always have to do those thing from the task manager...

Granted I havent tried to reformat window which would fix it all but wanna keep that as last option for now.

Is the PowerShell executable missing from C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0? By turning PowerShell off, do you mean toggling Windows PowerShell 2.0 in Optional Features?

How didnt I think about checking this path... but yeah I looked at the folder and Powershell is indeed there and I can run it from there. It seems like there is an issue with widnows start menu bcs it doesnt let me start things from there (powershell, cmd, run and some other things). As for the second question, Yes I meant that.

Edit: So I also tried running it from shortcuts and pinning it to start and doesnt work. I have to start it from the folder for it to work.

Sounds like your Start Menu shortcuts are just borked. Try opening Run and entering the following:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Windows Powershell\

Once you're there, right click on each of the shortcuts and check their properties, making sure that the correct values are set. 64-bit PowerShell should be:

%SystemRoot%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe

If these values are already correct, which they probably are, there is probably just an issue with your user profile. You may want to try using a fresh user profile, or manually recreate/edit the broken shortcuts for each PowerShell executable.
