First time ever trying OC

Go to solution Solved by CwGoh,

Guys, I want to attempt to OC my CPU for the first time and am planning to start with my weakest LAN rig, Phenom II 965 + Hyper 212 Evo + Asus M4A89GTD PRO/UBB3.

Is this the right prime 95 I should be using for Win7 64?

Anything else I should know/do before attempting OC? Also if anyone could link me to a good OC guide on youtube that would be very helpful as well.

How long should I be stress testing before I up the cpu frequency?

and leaving everything on auto like in this vid, should I allow the ram default increase with the cpu or should I manually turn it down to run at its stock frequency(or as close to stock as bios allows)?

I would say around 12 hours at least on the option of custom based on blend (click blend then custom) and inputting most of your ram into it. As for the ram frequency, I would leave it imo until you have reached a stable cpu overclock.
