I upgraded my hardware, the new config is asrock x570 phantom gaming 4, red devil 5700 xt, r5 3600, trident z rgb 2x16 3600mhz, and I migrated my storage config which is a Samsung evo 860 250gb and Seagate barricuda 2tb. The uefi is recognizing my m.2 drive but instead of booting it is saying ''reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key''

I have unplugged my hdd, switched m.2 ports, and made sure the m.2 is set as boot media. Aside from wiping and trying a clean install is there any other trouble shooting I should try?

For reference I upgraded from a MSI b350m gaming pro, gtx 1060 6gb sc, r5 1600, and aegis 1x8 3000mhz. Before upgrading mobo I had successfully installed the new RAM and GPU into the old system before migrating.

Did you just directly copy the windows files over to the new drive?

If I disable csm and try to boot it fails to find the drive, restarting with it turned back on it finds the drive again, but still doesnt recognize it as a proper boot media

not really sure why you bought a new motherboard anyway?

As I was upgrading to Zen 2 I wanted the x570 options incase I went for a higher end chip when money allows, I also saw this as an opportunity to gift my old hardware to a friend who hasnt been able to game with us on the PC space before. So I bought a new case and mobo to accompany the rest of the stuff I got

/solved.after reconnecting my HDD it booted off the drive. I dont know why this worked but it's fine and dandy now, except each boot takes 5-7 minutes instead of 10-15 seconds

My guess is your boot record is on the HDD and not the m.2.
This will slow down your boot times as you need to wait for the HDD to seek.
If you ever remove the HDD, or it fails, then you will lose your Windows install.

You can rebuild your boot sector so it's on the the m.2 but in my experience it's hit or miss.

It's not a race to the bottom.
