Replacing motherboard and cpu

I plan on replacing my current motherboard and cpu for some new hardware. When i do so do i need to a clean install of windows or can i keep my current installation. And if i install windows again is it safest to clean my drives, and what do i do with the drive i currently have windows installed on.

you can try and see if it boots....usually i'll just install new windows... you don't have to clean your other drives just make sure to backup anything you need in the C drive..you can still keep using the current drive...

It's best practice to do a reinstall just to keep everything nice and tidy. All you need to do when reinstalling is backup all of your files to another drive or somewhere you can access later on, boot the Windows installer, format the target boot drive, then install. You don't need to do a secure wipe of the drive unless you're thinking of selling it or recycling it.
