I have the A70 and a couple of months ago the charging port went the repair shop replaced it and it worked but after a few hours it went again he tried it again a further 4 times but same thing. I got it new about a year ago from ee on acontract and they told me its gonna cost me quite abit. I have a iphone 6 as back up so im good without it but im just wondering anyone else had a similar problem or knows what might be wrong?? I cant do much in terms of sending it off to EE becasue of Covid but they told me it wouldn't be covered by warranty and it might not even be possible to fix becalms of some random terms in the "contract" They are basically trying to force me to spend 300 quid on a upgrade when they should fix it because of how knew it is, or at-least take a look at it. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Have you tried a different cable and charger? What charger have you been using?

Its possible some other component in the phone is not working as intended and is killing the charging port or charging IC

i tried 5 different cables, ports and chargers and nothing.

its a usb-c.

Thats what the person at EE reckoned but he turned out to be completely useless in sorting it out.

If that is indeed what is happening to the phone, then there is nothing EE can do to fix it.

Diagnosis down to circuit and component level that the user does not interact with (meaning diagnosing a fault that is not the charging port, battery, screen, or any part that is commonly repaired) has to go to the manufacturer because no one else will have the expertise, or is willing to put in the effort required, to pinpoint the fault.

ohh ok makes sense then know i assume the cost was to send off to Samsung then. I just found it quite annoying that they counted give me more info on why it would cost 100+ to get "looked at"

If you are going back to them, call them to clarify what you are actually paying for.

yeah i will do that if its gonna cost more than a hundred might just have to wait out the contract on my iphone 6 which works fine but ill double check with them.
