I have a Dell Vostro 230 with some decent hardware inside but I was looking to play more demanding titles than Tf2, Minecraft, Csgo etc...

Current Specs:

NVIDIA Quadro 600 (Overclocked to 823MHz Graphics and 925MHz memory)

Intel Core 2 Quad q8400 2.66GHz

RAM: 2 sticks of DDR3 Patriot 4gb ddr3 1600 Viper 3 Series

435W TFX PSU

SSD: Adata SU800 Ultimate 256gb

I have an i5-2400 laying around that I cant use and I was thinking about pairing that with a gtx1050 lp or maybe a rx550 lp, The power supply should be good enough to handle all the hardware so no need to replace that, 8 gigs of ram is good enough for me and I can always upgrade for cheap later, The SSD is pretty much brand new so no need to replace that. So with all this Info I wanted to find a new motherboard that would support all this and fit in the original case (Which isn't half bad) to save money. I cant stand the bottle neck that I get from using a quad core! Its even bottle necking my Cheap $25 quadro card!!! and I would overclock it but dell doesn't allow that without a hassle. Thanks!

A new board would help overclock for some performance and also better cpu support.

You may need to see if your board is case and board are ATX. So your new board bolts in the case.

However, with overclocking, you'd want to upgrade the PSU sooner than later.

I think it's really neat you enjoy playing with older hardware.

The memory you have, can I have the part number off the heatsink sticker? Curious which Vipers you have, they tend to be decent memory.

Good stuff. Those sticks will likely do 8-8-8 timings 800mhz (1600mt/s) with a little voltage increase.
