Frozen Bios

ah I see, oops. Do you think your timings/voltages will work with my rig? (dont really know that much about OC and tweaking stock speeds)

generally i am reading upper safe limits (but who can really say) for DRAM is 1.45v and 1.2v for SoC.

i think i would try to input the XMP timings and voltage from CPUZ on the ram sticks manually and see if that works.

if not, then increase the voltages of those values a bit until it starts working, and without hitting those barriers.

First gen IMC is from my understanding stupid weak. I would be happy with 2933 or better.

I'm lucky mine worked at 3200, but it probably is on the edge of stability

So i went in the bios recently to finally enable XMP. When I went to do so, everything seemed fine. I clicked the OC Tweaker button and bios froze. When ever I try to go to another part of the bios the screen freezes. The PC is fine but i cannot enable XMP. So how should i fix this? Clear CMOS?

Oh look more Ryzen with weird bios behavior related to RAM

yeah its the funniest thing. I just tried switching ram to 9133 or whatever and I had to clear CMOS because the computer wouldnt boot. Definitley need to upgrade when the 4000's come out

Been troubleshooting the hardware reserved issue with like 5 people in the last week, usually all related to RAM and bios being weird. Most of the time it wasn't even settings changes that fixed them for the users, it was just random resetting, reseating, etc. The bios RAM training just seems to get really stupid on these systems.

My own 1600/b450 decided to go into a boot loop on memory after a year of 3200mhz being fine.

Resetting CMOS (twice) fixed it.

For now.

Honestly I also have benn having FPS issues too. I have an RTX 2060 and Im averaging 100 FPS in minecraft for god's sake. My FPS in CSGO is all over the place too and most of my games lock at 60 no matter what

If you are having the hardware reserved 8gb problem, its because you lost your 2nd ram channel. that's been the findings of the other users here.

fixed the ram and fps skyrocketed.

i had to manually enter timings, increase DRAM voltage to 1.4, and SoC voltage to around 1.15 to get mine to work

no, that seems about right. other users have had Hardware Reserved portion at 8gb (one whole stick), not 70mb.

generally i am reading upper safe limits (but who can really say) for DRAM is 1.45v and 1.2v for SoC.

i think i would try to input the XMP timings and voltage from CPUZ on the ram sticks manually and see if that works.

if not, then increase the voltages of those values a bit until it starts working, and without hitting those barriers.

First gen IMC is from my understanding stupid weak. I would be happy with 2933 or better.

I'm lucky mine worked at 3200, but it probably is on the edge of stability

also would you say buying a pair of trident Z 3000 be worth it? From watching the LTT vid I thought the max supported mem was 9133 for 1st gen, could I get 3200 with a new kit?

would it also be worth getting 3rd gen now or should I wait, like I said before because my frames are sad

i'd try to get what you've got working for now, personally.

if you're gonna spend money wait for a real upgrade like a 4th gen ryzen

Probably better to exhaust troubleshooting avenue before spending money
