Ram Compatibility

Hey guys quick question here, I've had issues with ram compatibility before so just wanted to check. 

 

Im currently using the corsair vengance (2 by 8gb) running at 2400mhz.

 

Would they work fine if I also added the two sticks of corsair vengance pro (rgb) whcih sits at around 2666mhz?

if your mobo supports it then yes.

But you wont get any more performance since the bios will scale it to 2400.

Yeah I just need more memory so not too worried about the speed of the memory, cheers.

Hi there, sorry to hijack your thread.

So would the same apply if I get HyperX Predator 2x8GB 3200 MHz kit if I have a kit of the same brand and series but clocked at 3000 MHz? 3200 MHz are now selling for less than 3000. The faster ones will only clock down to 3000 MHz, right? 

 

Just what about timings? The 3000MHz are CL15 and 3200MHz are CL16.
