VM vs Docker, unRaid

I have a plex on a container, in docker, works great. I Also want to move my minecraft game server from what is currently a very hot laptop over to my "Server" that is running unraid. I have seen some docker containers for minecraft, but I am wondering if I would be better off just making a full on vm for the MC server. Has anyone used docker for minecraft with success?

This one works pretty well, and there's a different version for bedrock if that's your jam, I've had a friend run a server using it. Although if you want a server that isn't totally vanilla, say forge for mods or bukkit for plugins, you're going to be in for some reading and setup.

I run all my minecraft servers in docker containers runs well with little to no issues, i've been using an open-source game server management panel called https://pterodactyl.io/

Hi, I was wondering how you setup pterodactyl as I can't figure out how to get it to work properly.
