CRT monitors will support and display any resolution, up to their maximum. Choose the one that looks best for you.

Refresh rate can be played with, Windows will let you know if you are out of bounds.

CRTs work in a fundamentally different way than LCDs.  A lot of the controls are the same because LCDs were designed to emulate CRTs but they work in a totally different manner.  There are no actual pixels or masks with CRTs. There’s just a scan line.  They’re analog not digital.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I'm aware but depending on the resolution you chose to run can you get a high refresh rate?

Waiting on HDMI to RCA converter to arrive, just trying to get a ball park of what I should be expecting to be the peak refresh rate to be

CRT TVs and CRT monitors are very different.

Basically the only signal that that CRT TV is going to understand is NTSC 480i over an RCA/S-vid or VHF coax connection.

CRT monitors (those that have VGA ports) can have the clock portions of the signal changed (within the scanning rate range of the tube) to change resolution and refresh rate.

You're going to be hard limited to 480i60 (not counting overscan, so probably less), I'm pretty certain. If not by the TV, then by the adapter. You also won't be able to play any copy protected content over it.

@AbydosOne and @Bombastinator are correct. I didn't realize this was a CRT TV, I thought it was a computer CRT.

I think you will find resolution and performance not up to what you were expecting.

Define “high” with CRTs the refresh rate is the scan line.  It’s fixed.  There is interlacing which sort of doubles things.  It’s kind of a hack though.  This is an international forum to make things more fun.  Is the tv ntsc or PAL or something else?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
