notstupid

At random times, my pc will crash while playing somewhat demanding games. Examples:

civ6

battlefield1

hell let loose

unturned(why?)

Is the computer overheating? Can you use a program like HWMonitor to test the temps while ingame? You should also run Memtest86 and test for any issues with the memory.

Need more information to make an educated guess.  What mobo, what cpu, what ram, how much ram, what type and size hard-drive, system temps before, during and after crash, time of day, what day of the month, is it a week day or a weekend.  All sorts of things can make a system crash so it can be somewhat difficult to come up with an idea as to why without some information.

i have the i77k cpu, STRIX Z270F mobo

so when my pc crashes, instead of just blue screening, the screen just freezes and the audio stalls

i asked my friend about it, but he said that it would just blue screen if it overheats

Not true, if it overheats and thermal throttles it can blue screen but mainly it will freeze/slowdown or just shut off, if it just shuts of it will generally tell you upon restart that it shutdown due to overheating. Since it's just freezing you will need to test the temperatures it's a basic trouble shooting step, we are trying to help you trouble shoot your computer and gain information regarding what's happening and if you don't even want to follow the steps or check the things we ask then I don't know what to tell you. Did you even try Memtest86 like I suggested earlier either?
