Ram speed for Asus motherboard

I currently have a ryzen 7 1700x on a Asus Strix b350-f motherboard. I was planning on upgrading to the Ryzen 7 3700x, buying a new set of 3600mhz ram and keeping my old motherboard. Would I be able to run the 3600mhz speed on the ram on my old motherboard? Or would I need to upgrade my motherboard too? Thanks!

It looks like it only supports up to 3200MHz RAM for the overclock but you could still get 3600 RAM and do one of two things:

1) Try with 3600 speed and see if anything crashes

2) Dial it to 3200 for now and look at a motherboard upgrade later on
