Reboot and Select proper Boot device error?

Ok I recently upgraded the Graphics card of my PC from a GTX 1050ti to a RTX 2070 super. On the initial upgrade everything ran fine, but I ran into a bit of hang up. I was left with only one HDMI port on the graphics card, so I decided to install the GTX back in to act as 2nd hdmi port for my 2nd monitor. Now, I keep getting the "Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" message. I've triple checked all of my connections, went into the BIOS to see if the SSDs and HDD are being read (and they are...) but I still can't get it to boot! Can someone please help me?!

Next time, there is a Screenshot / Print Screen option within the ASUS BIOS.

 

Do you still have the GTX 1050 Ti in the system?

If so, take that out.

 

The BIOS detects...I'm assuming... all 3 drives.

Currently, the boot drive is set as the Kingston drive.

 

Is your OS/Windows installed on THAT Kingston drive?

If not, you'll need to switch it to the proper boot drive.

Currently, it is only trying to boot from the Kingston drive, and nothing else.

It looks like you're trying to boot a legacy BIOS. You might have to switch it to UEFI: <your sata drive here>

Okay, cool.

I would proceed to double check your SATA power + data cables going to those your SSDs/HDDs.

Check both motherboard side (e.g. the SATA ports), and the drive side.

Check for any semi-loose connections

Windows 10 is UEFI only, though.

If you were to trying to install...say Windows Vista, or trying to get legacy hardware to work (e.g. some serial port / parallel port hardware), then you would have CSM enabled.

Wondering if you can use that to recover/repair the corrupted sections of of the OS, and not need to FULLY reinstall it.

Well the reinstall idea won't work. According to the media it can't do anything. I guess I'm just screwed.

Are you still able to get into the BIOS?

 

Are you able to reinstall Windows then?

When installing Windows, you need to set the boot priority (or boot override) as the install media -- e.g. the DVD / USB stick, etc.

 

 

EDIT: 

Out of curiosity, I went to check the BIOS you are using (version 0221 in your screenshot).

Your BIOS is quite outdated; your motherboard is currently using the first INITIAL release BIOS for that board, from June/22/2018.

When you get a chance, it might be a good idea to flash it to one of the newer BIOS firmware (e.g. version 2008 / 2006 / 1823).

You're missing a couple of the important AGESA patches, stability/compatibility/performance updates, etc.

I have many systems running windows 10 through legacy BIOS mode. UEFI is not required.

OK, I was initially re-installing the GTX because I needed the extra HDMI port. Afterward the it started showing the "Boot Device" error. I thought it was a loose cable so I triple-checked all of them, even completely rewired the whole system.... still nothing. Before I gave up on it for the day, I tried repairing the OS thinking that might be the issue. It won't repair it or re-install. So I'm lost here....

Oh, and yes I can still get into the BIOS.
