So yes, I am going to buy a mechanical keyboard in the future.

I have read alot about switches, the pressure required, the sound they make and all that information but now I am fishing for a your opinion.

What switch do you prefer to use? And for what tasks and why that certain switch?

Well my first mechanical keyboard is the Ducky Shine 3 TKL and I have it with MX Browns and I love them, they are a joy to type and game on. I have also tried MX Blues on my friends Blackwidow 2013 and they aren't bad but a little too loud for me. I have also tried MX Black in a store on a Steelseries 6Gv2 and I personally didn't like them since I like to have the tactile bump.

So browns are like not that clicky and responsive, Blues are pretty loud.

I'm wondering what's the big difference than between Red switches and Browns.

No, browns are pretty much exactly the same as blues but don't make the very distinctive click noise. The difference between MX Brown and MX Red is that the brouns have a tactile bump which you can feel wen you press down the switch and the reds are linear meaning that they go straight down without any bumps. Also reds would be quieter than browns.

So between those, which do you recommend? I've always chosen the browns over reds but now I am not sure anymore.

And aren't red switches pretty similar to membrane keys because they don't deliver a tactile bump and like almost no sound?

I would go with browns they are really nice and do take a little while to get used to especially if you are moving from a membrane keyboard. For me they have also increased my typing speed :)

I am currently using a  Logitech G510 and want a K70 but they aren't available with Browns where I live ( only MX Reds ). Hmmmmm

Best if you could see if any stores nearby have any mechanical keyboards so that you could at least see which switch you like. If not you could always get a sample kit.

Option 1 isn't an option for me.

And option 2 would cost me like 20 bucks, and that's already give or take 15% of the price of the keyboard I'd like to buy.

I use blues. I tried blacks, blues, reds and greens and I preferred the blues. I have a Ducky Shine 3 which I use for gaming, but obviously I type on it too.

You guys are crazy. You know you guys are self-destructive. There's a funny farm somewhere and it's got your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' outta here.
