I know Linus loves the Samsung 840 Evo, but Tek Syndicate seems to love the Adata SX900. How do you guys think these SSD's compare? I'm going for a 100% SSD storage build so probably two 500GB drives.

I would like to say that evo is better based on the fact samsung makes the controller and firmware etc, but then the adatas use mlc NAND. Frankly I would buy the cheaper of two.

Spoiler

Corsair 400C- Intel i7 6700- Gigabyte Gaming 6- GTX 1080 Founders Ed. - Intel 530 120GB + 2xWD 1TB + Adata 610 256GB- 16GB 2400MHz G.Skill- Evga G2 650 PSU- Corsair H110- ASUS PB278Q- Dell u2412m- Logitech G710+ - Logitech g700 - Sennheiser PC350 SE/598se

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

They're noticeably the same in most use cases. The software is what separates them.

Why 2 drives instead of a 1TB drive?

In that case the Adata wins :)

Only Samsung makes a 1TB SSD correct? I plan on getting a 500GB and buying another if I need the space, I don't use much storage. Which software is better in your opinion then? The Adata is $40 cheaper.

I don't really care for the software of either. I don't think they're relevant for the average user anyway. Just go ahead and get whichever is cheaper.

Sounds like a plan, thanks!

I have the SX900 256gb version. Having no problems with it whatsoever. It makes Windows run snappy as you would expect. And my games load fast. So that's really all I care about. Caught it when it was on sale too :D
