I currently have a ryzen 7 3700x processor with a gtx 1060 6gb graphics card, one stick of 8gb corsair vengeance 3000mhz ram and an aorus b450 elite mobo,

i mostly use this set up for producing music and editing videos for youtube, and have been finding my 8gb of ram less and less sufficient when i take on bigger and bigger tasks.

i have a budget of around £90 (around 110 dollars) and am currently deciding what stick of ram i should buy to upgrade my system.

im thinking of purchasing a 16gb stick of 3000mhz ram, but im not sure if mixing sizes is such a good idea or whether or not my processor supports 24gb as it stands (instead of something more conventional like 16gb or 32gb)

should i buy another 8gb stick instead, or is there anything else i might not have considered? let me know

cheers

i was thinking of upgrading my current ram, not replacing it, is there anything else you would suggest?

well you have to get the exact same type of ram so that there will not be any issues and mismatching is not good and is just asking for trouble.
