Windows 10 installation

My kept crashing into bios and as I found out my ssd died. Now I have made a bootable USB and now need to select what drive I want it installed on which wouldn't be a problem since I have enough space but I am worried, that if I select a drive the installation could delete the date which is on the drives.

So my question is if I select a drive with data on it to install windows 10 does the data get deleted?

The drive need to be formatted to install Windows on it, so yes, the data needs to be deleted.

If you create a Live Linux USB, you can use that to create a backup of the data to an external drive.
