So I got a brand new out of the box rx 5500 gigabyte, and installed it in my aourus x399 gaming 7. It worked for a little while, it wouldn't run the gpu portion of cinibench 15. I set the resolution to 1080p, and 2 minutes later it stoped displaying. My monitor detects it, my motherboard bios detects it, but it wont display. This has got me stumped and really need an explanation.

Did you uninstall old drivers and install the new ones?

Also, why would you pair a 5500 with Threadripper?

I have not, forgive me for my ignorance but what is a driver and where can I update it? And I paired it cause I like that AMD graphics software is open source and budget reasons.

Are you running Windows? Download DDU, run it in safe mode, and then install AMD drivers from their website.
