Hello everyone,

I ran into a problem. I noticed in the CPU-Z that my RAM runs slower (2133mhz) than it should (3200mhz 2x8GB kit). I enabled XMP and a DRAM profile in the BIOS but it literally did nothing. In BIOS the speed remained at 2133mhz and the same in CPU-Z. I tried running XMP & disabling DRAM profile and the other way around with no luck. Then I tried running XMP and setting the speed to 3200mhz manually but that just results in the system crashing on start-up. 3000mhz works fine.

Is there any limitation on RAM speed due to using B450/R7 2700X I'm not aware of? I know the RAM is not on the QVL list (difference of 1 letter), but the BIOS seems to get all the data just fine. Could that alone be it?

My setup is:

ASRock Steel Legend B450M

AMD R7 2700X
Palit GeForce 1660 Ti
Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3200mhz RAM (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16)

Corsair PSU 750W
Windows 10

Thank you very much!

You dont have to choose a Profile. Just activate XMP.

make sure ram is in slots 2 and 4.

when enabling xmp, make sure the frequency changes to 3200 and dram voltage to 1.35. if it still crashes, but works with 3000, try increasing soc voltage to 1.1. if still crashes, leave it at 3000 and go with that. the memory controller on 2000 series ryzen isn't great and sometimes doesn't like 3200
