Hey all, Currently i am just running my ryzen 3700x rig 24/7 with plex on it but im looking into the option of a nas server as it will most likely draw less power than my pc. What is the best option of nas to go for ? At most i have 3 people watching 1080p streams.

CPU - I9 10900 | CPU Cooler - Corsair Hydro Series H100x AIO | Motherboard -  Aorus B460 PRO AC | RAM -G.SKILL Ripjaw V series 4x8GB 2666MHZ | Graphics Card - Gigabyte RTX 3070  | Power Supply - Cooler Master 650w  | Storage -  Working on a new Spicy

Operating System - Windows 10 Pro

You can build a somewhat lightweight pc and use it as a nas.

At me or quote me, I want to hear your opinion.

Hopefully anything I say is factually correct. Sorry for any mistakes in advanced.

Do you want to build or buy a pre-built? I think Synology supports Plex now

Not really fused tbh.

That i3 system will be good, my Plex NAS is a Celeron G1820 with 4gb of ram. If you want lots of people encoding at once I'd recommend just adding a GT1030 or something similar

just run windows or nas software ? May get a 1050 or something as the cost the same on trademe atm or look into a good cheap second hand card

FreeNAS is really good, I run it on my NAS. It has a Plex plugin you can install and it will run in a FreeNAS "jail"

Cheers. Ill look into it now.
