First Build - Canada

Hi,

I've been trying to online shop for a pre-build but everything in our price point is very sold out.

This forum seems very helpful so I thought I'd attempt my first PC build. The physical assembly seems straight forward. When the Youtube videos start talking about BIOs settings and firmware updates I get a little overwhelmed.

I did look at some of the recommended build lists from other requests. Most are outdated or not the right location/currency.

 

1. Budget & Location

$1000 CAD (including windows) 

 

2. Aim

To play games (mostly Fortnite and Apex legends ATM), stream videos, run basic CAD and Cura for 3D printing.

 

3. Monitors

One monitor for now, it's old and cheap. We plan to upgrade in the future but our budget is too tight right now.

 

4. Peripherals

We already have a gaming mouse and headset. We'll need a keyboard and windows OS. 

 

5. Why are you upgrading?

The laptop my son and I are currently using is STRUGGLING.

The CPU seems to be sold out. I'm struggling to source it else where (that it's not $300+)

Any suggestions?
