My keyboard stopped working after update!
If it's Windows you want to format the drive and do a clean install. However I'd bet on a driver issue. Rather than updating drivers you should remove them all. Easiest way would be to wipe the laptop (backup first) and do a clean install. If that's not an option, remove all drivers. Windows should be able to fall back to it's default drivers. Unless you are playing games, that will likely not be an issue. I am guessing you are already running an external keyboard, right? Is the track pad affected as well or just the keyboard?
If you need to keep the data, you can reinstall windows by using microsoft's software download tool and then select to do a full install rather then upgrading or repairing it. My recommendation though would be to boot off a usb drive and do a clean install once the drive has been wiped.
