del S2716DG goes black when trying to set to 144hz

here is my video of the problem

 

on the refresh rate the options are:

24

60

85

100

120

144

 

24, 60 and 85 work but anything higher it does exactly whats is shown in the video

 

my system:

7700k

gtx 1070

nvidia driver version 445.75

I am using the displayport cable included in the box with the monitor

 

if I open the OSD is says "Resolution: 2560x1440,85Hz Normal Mode Maximum: 2560x1440,144hz" at the bottom of it

 

anyone know what is going on?
