Issue with hyperx Cloud Alphas

For a long time I have been using a hyperx cloud alpha as a gmaing headset and headphones for my phone, however recently the end of my cable snapped and I had to order a new one. When the new one arrived I noticed the cable was different and it doesn't seem to be detected by my phone. I am pretty sure it is 3.5mm but it just doesn't go in the jack all the way anymore (?). I am honestly done with hyperx this is like my 4th problem and I don't want to wait to order. A new headset after waiting 7 days if I return this.
