Best Monitor for MacBook Pro - 15 inch, 2018

I currently have a MBP with the following specs (IDK what all specs are needed for full assessment, so other info is needed please lmk ₎ :

• 2.9 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i9
• 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
• Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

I am currently using it for work from home (programming), some gaming (casual Halo MCC with friends via bootcamp), and watching videos (YouTube, Netflix Twitch). The two monitors I am debating between are:

I do have a few questions / concerns:

1. Can my computer handle either of these monitors?
2. I will be getting one of these come August, what is the likelihood a new model of these will be coming out then that I should wait for?
3. Is there a reason to choose 4k with the smaller 16:9 over the larger 21:9 ?

A little more info: I know these might seem overkill for my laptop, but next year with my next bonus I plan on building a new desktop.
