Minecraft Server Raspberry Pi

So I used to run a minecraft server for 5 friends off an old Powermac G4 400mhz 1GB RAM, since Minecraft 1.5.2, they dropped support for the PPC architecture :(. Can I expect the same performance on a PI? ( 2 plugins, render distance 5) (I've seen dudes running minecraft servers on it, but with 2 people) And also is it safe to run a bukkit server on a PI 12/7/365?

Sorry for my silly qeustions, coulden't find them anywhere else really, I really apriciate the help!

I don't think the Pi is near powerful enough.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 500GB Crucial P3 Plus, 4TB Silicon Power UD90 | GPU: AsRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Pure Wings 3 | Case: Sliger SM580 (Black) | PSU: Corsair SF850

Main Server: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | RAM: 64GB (2x32GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 | Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair VII Hero WiFi | Storage: 512GB SKHynix NVMe | GPUs: NVIDIA TITAN Xp 2-way SLI | Cooling: Thermalright Frozen Prism 360mm | Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow (White) | PSU: Seasonic Focus GM850

File and Media Server (AOOSTAR WTR Pro): CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5825U | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Silicon Power DDR4-3200 SODIMMs | Storage: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 2x14TB Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC530

Hell no, the Pi is nowhere near powerful enough.

In friendlier terms, no. The Raspberry Pi isn't really designed to have more than two tabs open on the internet, let alone have CPU usage at over 80% for 12 hours a day. (Since operating a server will take up at least that number)

K, thanks for the quick and honnest answer :D

Don't expect the same performance, but you could look at this guide:

http://www.howtogeek.com/173044/how-to-run-low-cost-minecraft-on-a-raspberry-pi-for-block-building-on-the-cheap/

Of course it's possible, though I am not sure about Bukkit.

Will an Intel NUC be good enough?

For vanilla Minecraft, yes. But, there are more cost-effective solutions.

CPU:  Intel Pentium G3220 3.0GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($64.97 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard:  ASRock H81M-DGS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($46.99 @ Newegg)
Storage:  A-Data Premier Pro SP600 64GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($49.99 @ TigerDirect)
Case:  Rosewill FB-04 ATX Mid Tower Case  ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply:  Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($39.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $262.92
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

If you have an older computer laying around, you can use it's case. If you have a hard drive you're not using, you can use it in this. Etc... You could consider an AMD quad core, but Minecraft servers are based on Single-Core performance, something Intel has always done better.

Random question, are you looking to put together a dedicated server build? If so, you can find some help in this section of the forums.

Yea, I'm looking for an as cheap as possible sullotion, if building it myself is cheaper, why not :) Thanks for the tip!

Thanks A lot for the build man! $260 is perfectly in my budget :D
