compatibility AMD CPU and Nvidia GPU Compatibility

Hi. So i currently have a AMD Ryzen 3700X cpu and an AMD RX 590 graphics card, which i want to upgrade (my gpu). I was thinking about getting an RX 5700 XT, but it seems like Nvidia GPUs out-benchmark/outperform AMD GPUs. What would happen if I got like a GeForce RTX 2070 Super? and would it be compatible with my AMD cpu? or should i just stick to upgrading to the 5700 XT? because those Nvidias seem very high end in the sense that they produce a a lot of FPS and are just good for performance.

Depends on what specific GPUs you are comparing. Obviously the 2080 Ti will outperform an R5 230, and a 5700 XT will outperform a GT 610.

I would just go for the cheapest of the two between rx 5700 xt and rtx 2070 super.  Those 2 cards are close in performance, the 2070 super being a bit faster but last I checked was more expensive.  Also nvidia have good drivers ... I've heard that amd got better with theirs.  So it's kinda a hard choice, but for sure both of them would give you a good boost in performance.
