Hey all,

I'm having problems with my GPU. I'm getting random GPU usage spikes on the desktop watching YT videos or playing games. The usage will spike randomly to 100% and either freeze the browser or the game I am playing.

Things I've tried so far:

  • Reinstalled windows. ( different builds)
  • Disabled overclocks and standard bios settings.
  • Tried different nvidia drivers & using ddu to remove drivers clean.
  • Underclocked my GPU.
  • Flashed to latest bios mobo & reflashed GPU bios.
  • Re seating the GPU.
  • Re seating all the PSU connector on the mobo.
  • Temps are fine.

Been browsing the web & the forum and this user had exactly the same issue but the thread died without a solution.

In this thread the user said he changed his memory and fixed the problem.

Before I go out and buy new memory I want to make sure this is the issue.

All these parts are new.

SPECS:

  • CPU: Ryzen 3900x 3.8 GHZ NO PBO
  • MOBO: B450 tomahawk MAX
  • Ram: Corsair LPX 16GB ram 2166 DDR4 (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15)
  • PSU: Corsair CX 550 (Bought a new PSU Corsair HX850i)
  • GPU: ASUS EVO OC 2 RTX 2060 SUPER
