Underclocking a Computer by temperature?

Hello!

 

I have a ASUS ROG labtop whose CPU regularly hits 85-100 degrees Celsius when I'm running it.

 

Is there a way to limit the CPU temperature and make it cool down after a certain temperature? Most guides online limit the computer by its CPU usage, but that isn't the way I'd prefer to go about this.

 

It came with Armoury Crate installed, if that makes a difference.

If its possible, have you seen the option to undervolt it? It will help reduce the thermals.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

CPU             : Ryzen 5 3600 (Formerly Ryzen 3 1200)

GPU             : ASUS RX 580 Dual OC (Formerly ASUS GTX 1060 but it got corroded for some odd reasons)

GPU COOOER      : ID Cooling Frostflow 120 VGA (Stock cooler overheats even when undervolted :()

MOBO            : MSI B350m Bazooka

MEMORY          : Team Group Elite TUF DDR4 3600 Mhz CL 16
STORAGE         : Seagate Baracudda 1TB and Kingston SSD
PSU             : Thermaltake Lite power 550W (Gonna change soon as i dont trust this)
CASE            : Rakk Anyag Frost
CPU COOLER      : ID-Cooling SE 207
CASE FANS       : Mix of ID cooling fans, Corsair fans and Rakk Ounos (planned change to ID Cooling)
DISPLAY         : SpectrePro XTNS24 144hz Curved VA panel
MOUSE           : Logitech G603 Lightspeed
KEYBOARD        : Rakk Lam Ang

HEADSET         : Plantronics RIG 500HD

Kingston Hyper X Stinger

 

and a whole lot of LED everywhere(behind the monitor, behind the desk, behind the shelf of the PC mount and inside the case)

not really. it will just reduce the voltage. in some cases it will reduce performance but if done right, it will help with the boost clocks due to lower temperatures.

 

 

Though im not sure if this is an okay video about it but it pretty much explains it. It wont go hot if it isnt using high power. so undervolting will help a lot. If you limit it by temperature, a cpu will have its own self defence system where it will down clock it self. thus making it slower. which is called throttling. I think you can adjust it in the bios on when to throttle. though i wouldnt recommend it .
