Hard drive not detected

Ok so I have an asus gl502vs gaming laptop and a seagate 4tb expansion portable hdd. I take very careful care of both and I know the hard drive has not been abused. I was able to use it no problem two days ago, but yesterday it no longer is reachable in file explorer. The disk does not appear in diskpart. The hdd does show up in device manager. The device does not show up in disk management. I have windows 10 pro as well on the laptop.
