At the moment im just trying to run rust, but even at absolute minimum settings i get about 3FPS. I have a very small budget (about $300 AUD/$180 USD MAX) but i would like to be able to build something that can stay relevant for at least 3 years, the budget is this low because i have 2 systems to upgrade.

My current setup is;

CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

GPU - onboard intel graphics 4000  (this will need to be upgraded)

RAM - 16GB DDR3

Mother board - ASUS P8Q77-M2/CDM/SI

Storage - 3x 240GB  (CT240BX200SSD1)

OS - Windows 10 x64 Version  10.0.17134 Build 17134

Power Supply - some basic 300w supply  (this will need to be upgraded)

I'm mainly looking for an appropriate gpu to fit this system and due to the low budget i would like to keep as much unchanged as possible. there is far too many options for me to decide between.

(I live in Perth Australia so if purchase links are added can they please be local)

Thanks to anyone in advance for helping.

I guess the main question is what is your budget?

For a cheap, good value graphics card, hard to go with anything but a used RX 470/570. If a GTX 1060 3GB can be had for a similar price, it'll offer the same experience.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

you should really avoid the rx560 imo, a friend of mine had one ; it was awful and 1080p was borderline playable (now he's running a rx5700, it's night and day for him)

ofc, i'm not recommanding the rx5700 for your case, maybe you can look for a used 980ti (6GB) or R9 390(X) (8GB) and a good power supply. A RX480 would be fine too (it uses way less power), if you find a 8GB one (I'd personally recommend a card with more than 4GB of Vram, for example borderlands 3 is using all of the 4GB of my r9 290 in 1080p)

RX560 is ok for people who plan to play older games like the arkham series and stuff. But it will really struggle in modern games. Dont get me wrong, RX560 is pretty bad for people who are used to high, very high gaming but if you can get it for like $40 (i bought it as a gift to my baby sister since she was playing with a 9500gt) id say its pretty much a gtx 1050. so if you plan to play older games, e-sports games at about 60 fps or more(my sister managed to reach about 100 fps on overwatch. idk what she did) , AAA games at low, AAA games at lower render scale or resolution, AAA games at medium but 30 fps lock, id say its pretty much a great card.

otherwise, if you can snag used cards like RX580 (got mine for a bargain  at about $60 and i have been using it for over a year now) . you might get it for $80-$120 depending on where you plan to look. so far this card is the best bang for the buck if you can get it at that price.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"
