Random Stutters

Hey guys,

 

I just recently upgraded my rig the other day and since then I have been getting these really weird, short stutters or lags randomly. They only last about half a second and it isn't really dependant on what programs I'm running (it stutters with nothing open as well). 

 

I replaced my motherboard, processor, cooler and added more RAM. Before I was running an Intel i7-6700K, now I'm running and AMD Ryzen 7 3700X. I moved over from my Asus Z170-A motherboard to a MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon. I also swapped out my Corsair H115i Hydro series cooler for the stock AMD Wraith cooler that came with the processor (I had to change coolers as my Corsair started acting up). Ontop of this I also added another 16 (8 X 2) gigabytes of RAM totalling up to 32 gigabytes (8 X 4). I made sure to get the exact same RAM as I had before - the G.Skill F4-3200C16D Ripjaw V Series.

 

This is my full build as follows:

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard

32 GB of G.Skill F4 Ripjaw V Series @ 3200MHz (8 X 4)

Super Flower SF-750F14MG 750W power supply

Western Digital WD10EZEX Blue 1 TB HDD

Seagate 2 TB HDD

Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB SSD

EVGA GTX 1080 FTW graphics card

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

 

I'm honestly not that tech savvy and I have no idea what to do about the stutter - I've been trying to swap out the RAM between the A and B slots but the stutter still occurs. I should mention that although the RAM is the same and they all run at the same speed (3200MHz) I got the first pair way back in 2016. I have updated all the drivers except for the BIOS.

I also have a Ryzen 7 3700X. I have been have also been experiencing these issues: https://bit.ly/2UYFouq . Unlike you, I built this PC from scratch so I have been struggling to troubleshoot which component it may be. Maybe it could be this CPU. What games have you been getting stutter in? Does the stutter particularly happen shortly after loading in (i.e. first few minutes after loading in) and does it happen when opening menus, bringing up scoreboards? 

 

Have you by any chance installed MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner

Thanks for the reply. I get stutters everywhere no matter what's happening on the computer - it just stuttered now during a YoutTube video as well.

 

Yes I have MSI Afterburner installed. I was thinking of doing a clean install of Windows as well.
