Lag spikes

Hey guys I have been trying to figure out why my computer in games can go 2 or 3 days with no lag than all of a sudden it can barely run. 

 

Pc specs

 

Processor- inel core i9-9900k cpu @ 3.60ghz

Ram- 16gigs avalible 8 gigs

motherboard- Prime z390-p

graphics card is gtrx 2070 

 

I feel like I have enough pwer and It should not be lagging like it does, some tips I tried to do were turn of overclock because it could be overheating. Also I noticed my SSD was set to turn of every 20 minutes so I tried turning that off and those to seemed to fix it for awhile. Im just annoyed because I am not sure what is wrong and I paid alot for this machine. When it works its awesome, the lag really only seems to be in video games. If anyone else has any Ideas please let me know I also cant offered much to upgrade since I have not been able to work lately. Thanks for the help everyone, hope people are staying safe out there.

Does anyone experience lag on halo mcc pc? I think I have got it fixed down to just that game really laging so maybe its a game design problem. Every other game seems to run fine with little to no lag at ultra settings. I also noticed I cannot update the newest driver it makes all games lag again.
