Hey guys!

So in the time of COVID-19 and all (hope you all are safe and well), I was thinking about building a new pc.

One of my demands is that it also will be a ripping machine for my blurays + dvds, and based on UNRAID as my operating system, with Windows 10 Home as a VM.

What I have chosen so far is:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fxv9yk

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Max 55.78 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B450-I Gaming Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard  ($159.99 @ B&H)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($74.99 @ Best Buy)
Storage: Intel 660p Series 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  ($74.99 @ B&H)
Storage: Seagate IronWolf NAS 2 TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($79.99 @ Adorama)
Storage: Seagate IronWolf NAS 2 TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($79.99 @ Adorama)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1 GB Video Card
Case: Fractal Design Core 500 Mini ITX Desktop Case  ($60.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Fractal Design Ion+ 560 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Asus BW-16D1HT Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer  ($79.73 @ B&H)

So before you state "you'll need another video card!", then I know. The italic parts, are something I have at home already - So it will only be temporary.

I am planning on going with a GTX 1660 or a RTX 2060 depending on prices etc. but it will be a bit more in the future.

The whole thing will be matched with a Oculus Rift S (at least I think so...), and it will be in the living room... Where my girlfriend also is... Which I would like to keep 😅 So I can't really set up external censors.

I don't know ANYTHING about VR gaming, so I am a bit afraid that the CPU, motherboard, memory etc. isn't good enough for a VR-rig, which will mean that I need to buy new again in two months.

Can anybody help me with evaluating this?

I really want to try to play Beat Saber. It looks so fun.

Best regards

Noego

You live in Denmark and are buying in the US?

I changed the 2600X to a 2600 (basically the same cpu, unless you want to overclock).

Faster Ram for cheaper.

Cheaper ssd.

2tb is enough for VR.

I also added a different power supply.

if you plan on using Oculus Rift S, you need more than a 560ti.

@Shrekpad Thank for the respond! 😄 No I am buying in Denmark, but PCPartPicker is just a nice webpage to get an overview of pc parts 😄

My plan was using something like the GTX 1660 Super, but I am not quite sure. I am not going to be playing that much VR, I mostly play on my other pc, so the VR is going to be a solution to when I want something else.

Should I consider another VR headset than the Oculus Rift S?

There's a Danish version of PCPartpicker: https://dk.pcpartpicker.com/.

One would need to verify that the motherboard has had the bios updated to support Ryzen 3000 before placing the order.
