GIGABYTE GPU opinion?

Go to solution Solved by Blazzin_0ne,

Coil whine is to be expected on the majority of video cards as you put stress on them. It’s all subjective and a lot factors into how loud it really is and how much of a problem it is depends on the individual... if you look deep enough, you’ll find somebody complain about coil whine on almost every card while somebody else might say it’s quiet.

Plus you can always adjust the fan curve manually especially if you have a well ventilated case, you might not even need the fans to ever go over 60%.

I got the Palit 2060s JetStream, and that one is whisper quiet, but at the expense of being a 2.7 slot card... it just happened to be the cheapest 2060s I could find, plus it came with a nice OC out the box, but I did look at the Gigabytes and the coil whine was not a determining factor in my purchase.

Alright so im looking forward into upgrading to a 2080 Super, so i started researching for prices and etc.I've found this neat 2080s.Im talking about the GIGABYTE RTX 2080S WINDFORCE OC.So i decided to stick with it.But as i researched a little more some people hear this coil whine? and appereantly the Fans keep turning on and off.So im just asking to see if it's a good idea to buy this exact model or should i just spend 20 more bucks and get the MSI Ventus OC version of this.

Alright but based on your experience or what you may have heard, do you think i should go for the GIGABYTE WINDFORCE OC or the MSI VENTUS OC?

To be honest, I have no preference between the MSI and Gigabyte brands and after quickly looking at some of the reviews for the MSI card on Newegg, there’s also people who mentioned it being a bit loud with the default fan curve.

Before buying this Palit branded 2060s, I always used to go with EVGA. I had an EVGA 7900GT and then a 8800GT and then a GTX560 and finally a GTX970. Part of me wanted to stick to that brand, but after doing some research, I just couldn’t justify the price difference.

I personally would go with the one that appeals to your eye and your wallet... they’ll perform practically the same.
