PC lagging at idle

My PC is not bad, I have my OS on an SSD and im running a ryzen 5 1500x and a gtx 1050. I'm sitting on the desktop with discord and spotify open and after like 30 mins of uptime it just starts lagging out of no where and there's nothing in task manager to indicate what's happening, windows update is off (and up to date) and most startup applications are off. I think it might be the task called "Desktop Window Manager"

In what way is the computer lagging? Mouse input or everything just feels slow?

It will for a few seconds just be like as 10 fps game and stutter

check to see if anything is starting to run when you idle for a certain period of time. You could run performance monitor and let the computer sit idle without screensaver and see if something starts to run when you go idle.

Has windows recently updated at all or can you revert to a previous save to see if that changes anything?

So there aren't any usage spikes in RAM or CPU when these happen?
