GPU problem? dp no signal

I have tried plugging in displayport to display port from monitor to gpu & hdmi to hdmi from monitor to gpu, and with both as well. It always results in 'dp no signal' after i turn on monitor. I have tried numerous times unplugging and replugging in cords, in different combinations as well. All my case lights & fans, gpu fans work properly when I turn on power supply. I have tried using 1 ram stick. These are all brand new parts, first time builder.

 

My computer specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max ATX AM4

Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB (2x8)
GPU: GIgabyte GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB OC

PSU: Corsair 650 W 80+ Gold Fully Modular ATX

Case: NZXT H510 Elite

Monitor: MSI optix MAG241C

You have connected GPU to 8pin PCI-E power right? And you are connecting monitor to the video output ports on the GPU and not the motherboard.

 

Also you only need to use either DisplayPort or a HDMI cable. Not both at same time. You then set your monitor input source to the type of connection you're using.

Yeah, GPU is connected with 8pin PCI-E. I have tried both connecting monitor to GPU then the motherboard, separately. 


I have tried using either and both DP or HDMI. I dont think i can set monitor input because there is only a on/off button on the monitor.

There is red a button/joystick on back of monitor for OSD

When i try using the red button nothing pops up. I plugged the monitor into my brother's pc and it works perfectly fine.
