new router?

Go to solution Solved by scaryjam823,

Get the asus rt one. You wont regret it and you just hook this one up. Install some drivers, configure the router and it will work no problem.  I've used linksys, dlink, belkin and asus is by far the best one. Linksys is good if you're on the cheap but it wont last forever.

just saw some post earlier about some tplink.

so I'm using my isp router with wifi. so it's like cable>router>pc (I'm not using wifi on any of my rigs). just that the router comes with free wifi.

I want to buy some aftermarket router would it normally work out? I've never tried this before.

was looking at asus or some linksys (did I got the name right?).

I just feel like the router is kinda cheap and junk looking too. I don't mind the more expensive one just not too expensive.

I'm good with any so long as it's good quality and will please my eyes.

I have my eyes on the 3 antena asus one and the square box that linus bought x2 piece on his youtube video.

Live your life like a dream.

this past saturday, I bought the tp-link tl-wr1043nd v2.0 from Microcenter for $44(Amazon price matched) replacing my d-link wireless router and so far unless it stops working down the road is excellent.  It has pretty much everything you could ever want from a wireless router excluding ac protocol of course.  It's also ddwrt firmware compatible.  I was looking at Asus routers first and they were ridiculously too expensive for my taste.
