Hello world!

I recently built a new gaming/basic editing pc and am having some issues with video playback. This goes for local and online videos. They just seem to be laggy and hang.. especially if running 2 videos or a couple of programs. Now correct me if I'm wrong but with my current specs this should not be an issue. I'm running an i7 9700k with a gigabyte rtx 2070 super on a gigabyte aorus z390 pro wifi motherboard. Ram I chose is team tforce Delta ddr4 at 3000mhz. SSD is Intel 660. All drivers are up to date and windows is completely updated. This issue persisted with old and new GPU drivers. Anyone have any idea what could be causing it?

Are you referring to the fact that you are losing frames or something similar have you checked your task manager when this is occurring so you can troubleshoot where the problem is coming from? if your using online services then it can be your internet possibly.

Good Luck!

Good Luck!

I've checked task manager and ran some speed tests for internet but that doesn't seem to be the issue. I'll double check my modem and router though since they are getting older.

  • 1 month later...

Update: replaced router, internet speeds were a lot slower than they should be. Issue is still there to a certain point.. if i'm running COD MW and have some tabs open in Chrome my pc will still experience frame drops sometimes. Also noticed that COD MW will run at 100%.. especially when loading shaders. Monitored my task manager when the drops happened and it mostly looks like CPU is at high load, GPU won't go higher than 40%, RAM a bit higher maybe max 50%.

These are my specs:

i7-9700K

Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro WiFi (hardwired though)

Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super white

Team T-Force 32GB at 3000mhz (4x 8GB)

Intel 660 M2 SSD 1TB

EVGA G3 1000W PSU

Enermax Liqmax III 360 CPU cooler

Win 10 Home

Running 165Hz at 1920x1080.. I believe I read somewhere that this can be an issue since the GPU wants to run at higher res? Anyone able to confirm that? Someone stated that GPU's 2070 and up will bottleneck playing at only 1080p.
