Hi folks, first time posting but been reading various threads for a bit now.

I'm currently building my first pc from the ground up. I've only ever upgraded existing pc's so this is my first foray into new builds. I have 90% of my parts picked for my intended usage, learning OnShape 3d cad design, browsing web and gaming (mainly iracing or assetto Corsa).

This is a budget build and my expectations are realistic in what I can do. The motherboard I have chosen is MSI B450 pro-vdh with the Ryzen 3200g.

I will upgrade to a dedicated gpu later in the year when funds allow.

Storage wise, I have an option of an M2 slot but here in Ireland at least NVMe is very expensive per capacity. So I'm thinking a 120gb WD green M2 for OS and a 250-500gb WD green or blue 2.5" SSD for games and programs. I have several 2.5" HDD that can be used for music and photos. I was thinking keeping the os separate limits data loss should a drive fail? Or am I overthinking it? The M2 would keep the build very clean at the start!

Thanks folks!

Alan
