Wired 360 controller, 'A' button not being registered

First off, to be fair, I got this from a Goodwill for like $4, and it's a GameStop third-party controller anyway, so I'm not too worried if it unfixable but I figured I'd try anyway.

For some reason the A button on this controller is not recognized by any game. I tried it in Castle Crashers, what I intended to use it for, and found something to be off though I couldn't pinpoint the exact problem, then tried Trine 2 and went to configure the buttons one by one and found the A button is not recognized at all; everything else seems to be working fine. It doesn't seem to be anything to do with the actual button itself nor the rubber piece in between the button and the PCB, and I can't really see any glaring issue on the PCB itself or along the electrical tracks attached to it, or anything those attach to. There does seem to be some random possibly glue plots on the PCB but I don't know if that would really do anything to it.

The model number is BB-070.

Any help would be appreciated.

:x So it's kinda late now to bump this but I just wanted to give this one more shot since I'd been away for a few days to do it earlier...

And it is a wired USB controller that I'm using for my PC, not a console.
