VMware Trouble

So since COVID-19 is spreading my college announced that we will be having online classes. I had my VMware installed on an external disk that my teacher took back and now whenever I try to install VMware again on my actual hard drive, it will not work. When I go to try and uninstall it, the program says that I cannot uninstall it because I do not have the external drive. What can I do?
