Good morning everyone,

Newbie post. Hopefully quick one for ya. I built a new pc recently and I'm not sure if it's start up process is correct or something is a miss.

Asus x470 pro, ryzen 7 2700x, Trident royal 3600 mhz 16g, stock cooler.

The pc will start for a second, stop, wait a few seconds and then suddenly boot up just fine.  This only happens when the power supply has been switched off. If power supply is left on, the pc will boot right away.  I tried clicking ram back in, ram testing, swapped psu, tested to make sure all hook ups were seated correctly.  The only thing I can think of would be bios needing an update or ram training?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much.

Sounds like normal behavior based on your description.

I have an older z170 motherboard with a 7700K and a AMD b350 motherboard with a ryzen 3600.  Even though the AMD is newer by a couple years, the Z170 boots WAYY FASTER.  Some boards are just faster than others.

Turning the PSU off isn't necessary unless you are making a change to your hardware or moving the system of something.

I

That is true, although although it appears to such odd behavior for the machine. I hope to not have anything shorted or having issues.
